BIOLOGY
Queen scallops, which are smaller than king scallops, can grow up to about 90 mm. This equates to 6 to 8 years growth. Individuals mature when about 40 to 50 mm and 18 months to 2 years old. Spawning occurs in spring and autumn. They are usually found at depths down to about 100 m on sand or gravel. It is a feeds on plankton and other organic material by filter feeding.
